West Florence
Alive
The Planning
Departments goal is to prepare a Specific Plan
for West Florence as a detailing of the
Comprehensive Plan with a specified scope of
work. This plan will utilize a significant
degree of public participation including a
steering committee comprised of a small, but
diverse and representative group of residents,
landowners, and other interested parties from
the planning area.
River
Heritage
River Heritage is a
75 acre park designed to serve as the eastern
anchor to the River Heritage river walk.
Elements include a meadow amphitheater, river
boat themed playground, festival lawn, pavilion,
and state-of-the art interactive fountain
featuring music recorded in the shoals. To top
it off, this area provides a stunning view of
the Tennessee River.
Grand Opening for
River Heritage is scheduled for May 2008.
Walk of Honor
The
Florence-Lauderdale Walk of Honor located at the
beautiful River Heritage Park, showcases
individuals who have brought national and
international recognition to Florence. The first
16 honorees are scheduled to be unveiled in May
2008.
