COMMISSION NEEDS YOUR HELP SELECTING AN OFFICIAL
CITY TREE
 Florence
Tree Commission would like for city residents to
assist in selecting an Official Tree for the
City of Florence. The Commission desires to
select a tree that is representative of the
strength, longevity, and beauty of Florence, her
citizens, and her history. By establishing an
official tree The City of Florence and the Tree
Commission would be able to further describe the
qualities of Florence by use of the symbol and
focused planting of the tree.

Department
The
Urban Forestry Department of the City of Florence
oversees the City’s landscaping needs, tree
planting programs, and renewal of the older urban
trees.
Florence has received numerous awards and
recognitions based on the high level of tree care
and environmental improvement our department
provides including being named Tree City USA for
the 20th consecutive year.
In
addition to acquiring, planting, and caring for
new plantings of trees and ornamental plants,
special attention is given to old, mature trees
and their maintenance.
The Urban
Forester/Horticulturist also executes the
landscape beautification program for the city.
