Town/Gown Relationships Report - A task force has released its proposal that suggests ways to improve relationships between the City of Florence and the University of North Alabama (UNA).  A few of the top issues cited by the report are developing a stronger economic base for graduates to find jobs and looking for opportunities to improve zoning regulations that would allow for more student-oriented businesses.

River Heritage Program – This program has recently begun and includes several projects along the Tennessee River. A walking trail will connect Wilson Dam with McFarland Park, an interactive fountain and amphitheatre will be next to the Florence Conference Center, and the Patton Island overlook will allow visitors expansive views of the river, Wilson Dam, and Patton Island.
