A Message from Deputy Chief Tim Shaddix

Thank you for visiting our official website. We welcome you and are glad you have an interest into what we do and hope you will partner with us to improve the quality of life in this area. Improving the quality of life is part of our mission. The men and women of the Florence Police Department are committed to our mission and our goals for the upcoming year. During your visit you will find a tremendous amount of information regarding the many different assignments within the department. We offer different

programs and specialized units in order to meet the needs of the public and to provide opportunities for diversity for employees.

 While visiting I hope you become acquainted with the men and women listed and maybe you will get the opportunity to meet them in person. They are exceptional people who take their responsibilities seriously and work hard to achieve their desired outcome.

 Please note the opportunities each citizen has to become a part of the department. From our VIPS (Volunteers in Police Services) to our Citizens Police Academy, one can find something that interests them and fits into their schedule. For the younger group with an interest in Law Enforcement I suggest you look into the Ranger Program. This is a program for 15-21 year olds who work special events with us and do ride-a-longs on a regular basis.

 I feel certain that you will find things of interest as well as pertinent information such as safety tips and suggestions that will prevent you from becoming a victim of a crime.
