How to Adopt:

Our Service Area covers 370 total miles in the city, with a population of 40,000.  The animal shelter of the Animal Control Department receives an average of 600 unwanted animals per month during the summer and an average of 365 per month during the rest of the year.

This year we adopted out 1,064 pets! An all-time high ! In 1999 our staff set a goal of one day adopting out 1,000 pets in a single year. At the time this goal was set we were adopting out about 400 pets a year. With a solid marketing and business plan our goal has been reached.

If you would like to adopt an animal from the shelter, stop by during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.  We are closed from 12:00 until 1:30 PM for lunch and shelter clean-up.

Adoption fees are $15.00 plus $50.00 for spay or neuter.
