Burn Permits
In order to
obtain a Burn Permit within the City Limits of
Florence, you must go by the closest Fire
Station on the day of the planned burn in
order to obtain a signed burn permit from that
station.
The permit holder has the responsibility of
monitoring and controlling the fire. Any
damages done by the fire are the sole
responsibility of the permit holder.
All fires will be
monitored and extinguished by
sunset on the day of issuance.
Furthermore, only
small amounts of material that will generate a
minimal amount of smoke will be permitted to be
burned. (No household garbage or any material
known to be detrimental to the environment will
be allowed. Items such as, but not limited
to, cans of paint, shingles, tires, rubber,
cleaning materials and the like shall not be
burned.
The fire shall be conducted in a safe location,
not less than 50 feet from any structure or
shall be conducted in an approved container as
in accordance with section 501.1.2 of the
Standard Fire Prevention Code 1997 Edition.
