Bobby E. Irons, Mayor
Bobby was elected as Mayor of the City of Florence, Alabama, in August of 2004 in his first bid for political office. He began his four year term in October.
In his professional career, Bobby has served as President of Avalon Aluminum Company and Wise Alloys Company during the acquisition of the Reynolds Metals Company facilities in Alabama and has also held several financial and administrative positions with Reynolds Metals Company.
He retired from Reynolds Metals Company after serving in corporate headquarters as Chief Financial and Administration Manager of two major divisions. He had financial responsibility for eleven operating locations throughout the United States and Germany. He was Plant Controller and Automation Director at Reynolds’ largest manufacturing facility in Alabama, as well as, Financial Consultant for International Fertilizer Development Center and Reynolds Metals Company’s International Division.
He has served as Executive in Residence at the University of North Alabama, and has been involved with and held offices in many community and civic organizations including: President of United Way of the Shoals; Chairman of the Shoals Economic Development Authority; Chairman of Northwest Alabama Education Partnership; Chairman of the University of North Alabama President’s Cabinet; and member of Northwest Shoals Community College Advisory Council.
Bobby holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Alabama with a major in Accounting and Economics. He is married to Sara Perkins Irons and has two married daughters and two granddaughters. They are members Darby Drive Church of Christ.

Sam Pendleton,
Jr., was first elected to represent District 1 in August, 1992.
He was reelected in 1996, 2000 and again in 2004. Mr. Pendleton served
as Council President, and is Chairman of the Finance, Utilities
and General Administration committee. His other committee assignments
are the Public Safety Committee where he is a strong advocate
of hiring additional police officers and the Animal Control, Schools,
Library & Appropriations Committee.
Sam and his
wife, Deloris Ann, have two sons. They are members of Morrow Memorial
Church of God in Christ.

Scott E. Carrier was elected in 2004 to represent District 2 on the Florence City Council. He serves as Chairman of the Planning and Building Committee and is a member of the Finance/Administration and Parks and Recreation Committees.
Scott has a B.A. in Political Science and an M.P.A. in Public Administration from the University of South Alabama. He gained vast experience in public relations while working in several state capitals and in Washington, D.C. He is currently the manager of a local radio station.
He is active in community affairs and is a member of the Music Preservation Society, Inc., the Florence High School Booster Club, the UNA Sportsman's Club, and a past member of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Scott and his wife, Karla, have one daughter and one grandson. They are members of First Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals.

Hermon T. Graham

Hermon T. Graham served on the Florence City Council from 1984 to 1992. He was elected in 2004 to again represent District 3 on the Council.
Hermon and his wife, Peggy, have two children and three grandchildren. They are members of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

James H. Barnhart was elected in 2004 to represent District 5 on the Florence City Council. He retired as Commissioner of Labor for the State of Alabama after serving under Governors Siegelman and Riley.
James and his wife, Peggy, have three children, Fonda, Tabra and Jason. They are members of Faith Tabernacle Church.
