WHAT:
Its
the great American sport. Whether youre interested in a
pick-up game or playing in a league, the City of Florence has
baseball and softball for all ages.

Each team plays five games; registration takes place in June,

Camping
WHAT:
What
could be nicer than camping next to the beautiful Tennessee River?
Two campgrounds provide RV and tent camping, with electrical and
water connections, waste stations, showers, restrooms and washers
and dryers.

Veterans Memorial Park, 22 campsites
WHEN:
McFarland
Park is open from March through November; Veterans Park
is open year-round.
HOW
MUCH:
Fees are charged and are collected by the Park Rangers. Tent camping:
$11 per night
Regular campsites: $14 per night
Senior citizens (62+): $10 per night
Additional vehicles: $15 each
$3.00 fee for advanced reservations.
Discounts available to those who are disabled if they present
a handicapped license plate or sticker, a Golden Access Pass or
a state-issued card.
RESERVATIONS:

may be made up to one year in advance by calling 740-8817. Visa
and Mastercard are accepted.

Classes
WHAT:
The
City of Florence offers a variety of educational classes, designed
to teach a new skill or help with a skill level. They are fun!
Please note that dates and times may vary due to weather and/or
instructors. Please call for confirmation or further information.
BATON
Offered
for ages 5-16 at Royal Avenue Recreation Center each Wednesday
and Thursday at 3:30 p.m. A monthly registration fee is charged.
LADIES GOLF
Ladies
golf lessons are offered at the golf course; class size is limited.
There is a fee charged. Call the Pro Shop at 760-6428 for more
information.
JUNIOR
GOLF
Offered
for ages 8-16 at various levels of experience. Contact Blackberry
Trail for more information at 760-6428.
FITNESS
Certified instructor Linda Clanton leads the class in low-impact
aerobics and floor exercises on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays,
and in walk/run/jog exercises on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The classes
are held at Broadway Recreation Center, Royal Avenue Recreation
Center and Martin Park. A monthly registration fee is charged.

SWIMMING
Various classes are offered for infants through adult, taught
through the American Red Cross. Classes are held at Royal Avenue
and Handy Recreation Centers during the summer. A registration

TENNIS
Tennis league play is welcomed, but must submit a roster and pay
a nominal fee. League play is on Royal Avenue and Veterans Park
courts only; Cox Creek Courts are for free play and
tournaments.

AARP
(American Association of Retired Persons)
Meets at Royal Avenue Recreation Center the third Thursday of
each month for a covered dish luncheon from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
BRIDGE
Bridge is played at Royal Avenue Recreation Center each Monday
from 12:30 - 5 p.m., and at the Senior Citizen Center each Wednesday
from 12:30 - 5 p.m.
BROADWAY SENIOR CITIZENS
This club meets for cards and games the third Tuesday of each
month at the Senior Citizen Center from 6 - 9 p.m. Snacks are

CHEER
CLUB
This club offers special programs, fun and fellowship for physically
and mentally challenged people, and meets the first and third
Mondays from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Royal Avenue Recreation Center.
DULCIMER
CLUB
Instructions and jam sessions held on the fourth Saturday each
month at the Senior Citizen Center from 6 - 10 p.m. For more information,

NIGHT
OF FUN
Dance every Tuesday from 6:30 - 9:30 at Broadway Recreation Center.
This dance is for people 50 and older. Sunshine Band provides

DANCE CLUBS
Circle Eight Square Dance Club meets every Tuesday night from
7 - 10 p.m. at Royal Avenue Recreation Center. Couples only; beginner
classes offered.
Quad-Cities
Squares meets every Thursday from 7-10 p.m. at Royal Avenue
Recreation Center. Open to singles and couples; line dancing
also incorporated, and free classes are offered during Introduction
