Street
Department The Street Department is responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, alleys, and rights-of-way. They also maintain the department vehicles and provide curbside programs for collection of household trash and yard debris. The Street Department includes patching and paving crews, a sign shop, tree crews, and concrete crews to effectively maintain our city infrastructure. It is their responsibility to keep the roads safe during ice and other inclement weather. The administrative offices of the Street Department can be reached Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. FEES

Solid Waste and Recycling The Sanitation Department provides residential and commercial garbage collection within the corporate city limits. Residential garbage collection is $12 per month for one day per week collection in carts provided by the City. Commercial collections are made up to six days per week. Florence’s
recycle program is one of the oldest in the state and has been recognized
as "One of the Leading Recycle Programs in the State of Alabama".

scheduled pick-up days, please call the Recycle Program at 760-6466. The Sanitation Department is also responsible for the operation of the City owned landfill located on Savannah Highway in Florence. Landfill
